Despite clarification, Trump's Russia remarks put intel chiefs in tough spot
By Morgan Chalfant and Olivia Beavers - 07/17/18 07:04 PM EDT

U.S. intelligence chiefs found themselves in a precarious position twice this week -- first when President Trump sided with Russia over the intel community’s conclusion about election meddling and then when he cast doubt on their findings during clarifying remarks.

The initial comments, made alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin at a joint press conference in Helsinki, prompted Dan Coats, Trump’s handpicked director of national intelligence, to issue a stern defense of the intelligence community’s “fact-based” conclusions.

That led to intense speculation that Coats and possibly other top intelligence officials might decide to resign.

“I think this president crossed a line that no president in my lifetime has ever crossed, which is to stand up next to an adversary of the United States and say that he trusts the Russians more than he trusts our own intelligence and law enforcement agencies,” former CIA Director Leon Panetta told The Hill on Tuesday.

Maybe Trump's disjointed comments at yesterday's press conference will be the silver bullet that'll finally put the democrats back in charge of congress, redeem all Trump's critics (see they were right all along), and bring the beltway insiders back another step closer to the positions of power that are their birthright.

But a much more likely outcome is they'll overplayed their hand, again, and the whole thing will just end up making Trump more popular.

Trump makes mistakes, sure.  But really, what’s the alternative? I sure don’t see it.

Oh FFS.

Why the hell would he trust our "own intelligence agencies".... considering how the aholes in charge of the FBI have been out to get him and covering for Hillary's @ss all along.

And as far as trusting law enforcement agencies.... I believe it was Obama & Holder that perpetuated and created a massive distrust of "da police"....

not Trump.

I' m pretty sure that's the scenario that will come to pass.

President Trump has info that he has not disclosed.  He has a huge amount of dirt on the Intelligence Community as it was run by John Brennan and James Clapper and as assisted by James Comey's FBI.  (Coates feels that he has to stick up for the IC, but he really ought to do that in a pretty low-key way.)

American military intelligence is in charge right now, with unfettered access to the NSA.  I believe that a lot of people in the civilian branches of the Intelligence Community are going to be prosecuted.

Intel chiefs... like Brennan?   Communist voter and moslime slime-bag convert.

Yeah, I know where I stand on this.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning, they want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.

I hope you're right. Prosecutions of the subversive Bammy people are in order.

I heard today that the Intel people who brief Trump are going to be more structured at those meetings, and limit his knowledge of certain Intel.  This tells me they can't trust him with Intel.

@austingirl

I don't know who Joe or Rachel are.  CNN was on and it was an Intel guy who said it; not the anchor; I was not watching the screen.  I have both Fox and CNN on at different times.  I don't go to other news channels, I figure these two are one liberal and one conservative. I also don't know most pf the names of the anchors on either channel.

If that's the outcome of the midterm elections, watch how quickly he becomes a born again meddling believer.  It would be the only explanation as to why his magical campaign abilities didn't drag people across the finish line

Right.  Way back in 2015, the leaders of our loyal American military met secretly with Trump and asked him to run for the White House.  As soon as Trump was inaugurated, he gathered around him an unprecedented number of military folks (as you may have noticed).  Trump's rather obvious reason for the military emphasis was that he intended to reverse decades of the over-the-top corruption that our military and the NYPD had uncovered, peaking during Bammy's Presidency.  The military will be the key to draining the Seditious, Treasonous Swamp.

Follow the Qanon websites to read shrewdly leaked and wonderfully tantalizing hints about what is going on behind the scenes of the media.  As Q has repeatedly said, "We [military intelligence guys] have EVERYTHING.  We know EVERYTHING."  Q has also repeatedly said that JUSTICE will be served.

(By the way, I am convinced that Trump will eventually shock sleepy Americans into wakefulness by prosecuting Obama for the birth certificate forgery--adding a nice little frosting to the cake of salacious and readily provable charges against Obama.)

They are certainly unencumbered by any clue who their boss is....
