I knew a sweet little girl like that, little bit of a goth, pretty as the day is long. She ended up suddenly moving in with some fellow and taking all my music (cassettes) with her. It hurt, but years later, all I remember is her pretty face (and my lost music).

I never got to see E.Costello, not really my full cup of tea, but did drive by him performing at the Fox in Atlanta one night. It was intriguing seeing an well dressed black youth trying to buy tickets to his show. Elvis had an wide appeal.

80s Dance New Wave Rare/Obscure

This is where I post something that is not going to be remember but by a few folks. But I loved it, you may want to bury it in the ole litter box.

Dirk Darmstaedter (Real Name...German) became the lead singer of The Jeremy Days in the late 80s through mid 90s. He still makes music. If you have time, give this song a try, it is one of my faves now. The last 2/3rds of it are awesome (yes, I prefer the musical sections over the vocals). Wish there was a dub version released of it.

The Cure was an 80s icon in Dark Wave. But few know of the other group that sounded just like them, from instruments to vocals. Yep, with your eyes closed you would almost swear this was Robert. This little known gem of a group (The Essence) were from the Netherlands and their poor music label (Midnight Music) couldn't afford to promote them (and get them out for the public to buy). I lucked up and managed to get 4 albums of them perchance (in going out of business sale) in the early 90s. I will to remember to link an interesting video (for me anyhoo) with the fellow that ran Midnight Music at the end of this.
