The Cure was an 80s icon in Dark Wave. But few know of the other group that sounded just like them, from instruments to vocals. Yep, with your eyes closed you would almost swear this was Robert. This little known gem of a group
(The Essence) were from the Netherlands and their poor music label (Midnight Music) couldn't afford to promote them (and get them out for the public to buy). I lucked up and managed to get 4 albums of them perchance (in going out of business sale) in the early 90s. I will to remember to link an interesting video (for me anyhoo) with the fellow that ran Midnight Music at the end of this.
