Sears is closing another 10 stores, on top of the 68 closings the company recently announced.

The new list, which the company posted on Friday, includes Sears stores in California, Florida, Michigan, New York, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Closing sales will begin in July, and the stores will close by September.

I have three or four Sears relatively close to me including an outlet store and I almost never go to one, except the outlet store when I am looking for a major appliance. I bought a  brand new Whirlpool refrigerator with a small scratch on one side for less than half the price at any other retailer. They did just close the Auto center at the local mall, I just don't no where people will go now for shoddy auto repairs by shysters.

Not much word, about what the remaining stores will be doing differently.

In my area Sear has stores in a successful center (South Coast Plaza) and in a very weak center (Westminster Mall)


 Other nearby large centers have undergone recent major modernization, which entails enhancing the mix of stores, and the physical layout (Irvine Spectrum= Irvine Company).
