Taco Bell has been voted 'America’s favorite Mexican restaurant', according to a survey conducted by Harris Poll.
The 2018 Harris Poll EquiTrend Study asked over 77,000 people in the U.S. ages 15 and over. The online survey took an average of 30 minutes to complete and asked a variety of questions.  .....

That's the truth @montanajoe ! I'm a huge fan of Tex Mex...real Mexican food...not so much. Besides, the beef smells/tastes funny. But the seafood is darn good.

In SoCal the best "chain" is Ell Pollo Loco, originally from Mexico but now American owned and operated, company and franchise.


Everybody likes it, diverse customer base.

IMO it is probably the best fast food restaurant, and maybe the only one I can stand, if only a little. And I do like it occasionally.

We have some good Mexican restaurants around here that are way better.

I saw a comedian a few years ago on tv who did a routine about working in a Mexican restaurant when he was younger as a waiter.
He said some customers would ask questions about this or that dish and he would finally exclaim to them "look, all the dishes are a combination of the same ingredients. They're just put together differently."
The wife and I got back from a trip to Italy and Greece  a month ago. We actually liked the food in Greece better although we both love American-style Italian food.  We found out we didn't like eating  pasta every day like the Italians do.

That is why French cuisine is so highly regarded. The French, more than most cultures, have an extremely broad selection of foods and preparations, which are completely different from each other. In terms of style of cooking, I think the French have more diversity than any other. That is why it is so popular.

These 2 categories, to me, make or break, a Mexican food dish, as there are so many different varieties, and they each have unique flavors.

The chain El Pollo Loco, originated in Mexico, and uses a proprietary Citrus based marinade for heir chicken.

The flavors there, are the best.

When the variety gets so broad that they are including snails, then they went too far.
