Democrats call on DHS' Nielsen to resign over family separation policy at border

At least 10 Democratic senators and members of Congress have called on Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen to resign, as of Tuesday morning, after the embattled agency chief blamed Congress, not the Trump administration, for the separation of children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif, led the charge on Monday afternoon, issuing a statement condemning Nielsen's department for "tearing" families apart.


"The government should be in the business of keeping families together, not tearing them apart. And the government should have a commitment to transparency and accountability. Under Secretary Nielsen's tenure, the Department of Homeland Security has a track record of neither," Harris said in a statement. "As a result, she must resign."

I don't know how much clearer Sec. Nielson could have been.  She is following the law.  As she said 10,000 of the 12,000 illegal immigrant children came here alone.  Nothing has been done that wasn't done under Obama.  In fact Obama ended up releasing children to people who were not established parents or guardians.  In fact some of them fell into the hands of human traffickers. 

It is time that the phony compassion come to a halt.  All the staged pictures.  The Obama era pictures of children on beds with foil blankets in cages.  (which in itself isn't abuse) This isn't about children.  It is about them and Democratic votes.  Perhaps even deals with the Mexican Cartel.  What we should be doing (Conservatives) is running stories on Cartel this side of the border.  Running stories about MS-13 gang violence all along the I-5 corridor.  Immigrants can't claim asylum to escape gang violence and move their children to LA.

They are desperate and as many stories of Trump Katrina moment they run it will not affect Trump.  Trumps base voted for a stop to the illegal immigration madness.  I see his ratings going up.  I certainly will be giving credit where credit is due.
