Who said it was what Jesus said?

Better read up on what a Christian believes.

The Israelites were chosen to bring forth the Savior reconciling God with His creation.  Those Israelites who accepted Christ as fulfillment of the scriptures moved forward into the world to bring forth Christianity.  Those who did not remained behind.

There are many Christians who believe the reason for chosenness ended with Jesus Christ.

Christianity started with Jesus.  Islam started roughly 600 years later when Moe was refused being made a prophet by the Jews and Christian's.  Islam didn't really catch on at first until he and his lieutenants started killing robbing and raping.

I get this @driftdiver   My earlier point was that all three religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) began with the Torah.

OK, I see what you're saying.

I go with the many times God tells them they are His people and:

Quote
Matthew 5:17-20 King James Version (KJV)

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

But, beyond this I will refrain from having a discussion of religion.

Mohammad had a passing relationship with the Torah, and used it to write the opposite, sort of the anti-Torah.  Having read the quran and the hadiths, I found very little influence from Christianity.

Well, this certainly shuts down any discussion on the influence of CI Scofield on Christian scripture and interpretation.

Damn!    (But okay.  The rules be the rules.)

Someone on another thread said that Jews had been God's chosen people, but after Jesus they were not needed anymore.  (Paraphrasing on my part.)  I'd never heard that before.  Is that an evangelical idea?  Who believes that?  (Serious question)

@Sanguine

Bible says they are the chosen people.  I've never heard an evangelical preacher say the Jews aren't needed.

I agree.  However, read up on Scofield.

I'll add He also said 'forever'.

Normalcy bias. Many branches of Christianity say exactly that - Replacement Theology - And some modern Evangelicalism is just as guilty of it as ever.
