Myths about male fertility are varied and widely believed.

Men, if you're trying to become a father, do you think having sex daily with your partner will increase your chances of conceiving? Are you convinced wearing a certain kind of underwear will boost your sperm production? These are among the common myths about male fertility that many men believe, experts say. One misconception many hold is that when a couple is having difficulty conceiving, it's probably solely attributable to a female fertility problem, says Dr. Sarah Vij, a urologist who specializes in male fertility at the Cleveland Clinic. "The reality is, when there are fertility issues with a couple, 50 percent of the time it's the female, 20 percent the male and 30 percent it's due to both," Vij says. "So, 50 percent of the time the fertility of the male is a contributing factor."
