  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
Republican Senators are unsure of what to do between now and the November election so they're polling - themselves.

Senators Ted Cruz and Lamar Alexander are quietly circulating an unusual 'survey' of their colleagues to ask about their level of support for various legislative proposals, some of them highly controversial.

Among the ideas, trying once again to repeal Obamacare, attempting another round of tax cuts, defunding Planned Parenthood, expanding gun rights, and many others.

But the odds of any of these proposals coming to the Senate floor for a vote are slim, insiders told Politico, which reported on the unusual poll.

Depends on what they want out of their polling.

Support their President and pass a winning Agenda on all the above points or resign and move to K Street for 5 times their salary.
My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

I doubt anything major will pass through a razor thin majority.  They could try to avoid scandals, and hope the left gets bored with Trump.  Let the craziness emanate from the other side.  Keep the focus on them, pick up a few seats, and pack the courts before 2021.

No need to poll.  They can simply do what they campaigned to do.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

-Ayn Rand-

Better yet..they can do nothing but pass appointments/judges.
