What a bunch a bullshit. So can you point to any products that are banned because of a tariff? None.
Banned? Who said anything about banned? This is about freedom and my personal standard of living. It is about me having to pay more for my American-made product because the American manufacturer just raised the price 20% to match the price increase of his foreign competitors. And in that regard, I can point at EVERY product that now costs more because of some
asinine rehashed liberal policy that has been proven to fail again and again and again and again.
You make get off being the in the country that send our wealth overseas in irrational trade imbalances
That wealth comes right back to the US in the form of investment. It is Macroeconomics 101, not that you actually give a shit. You seem to be bent on some 'punish the world' crusade with zero regard of how it affects actual Americans.
and get nothing in return for funding other countries Socialism . . .
lol, that's hysterical. Socialist countries selling us goods at a loss, and you somehow think that helps them? Good grief, what little steel that China was selling us, they were selling at a loss. Got that? They were paying for part of the price of me buying it. Again, China was paying part of the cost of what I as a consumer was buying. And you have a problem with sticking it to China like that? Yet your solution is to stick it to the American consumer instead? Screw that.
There are no free markets
Gotta love that reasoning. There are no free markets, thus we must eliminate free markets.
and pretending that some taxes on shit is going to make something that is in reality nonexistent be theoretically nonexistent is absurd.
Before tariffs, I can buy a Chinese widget for $95 or an American widget for $100. After tariffs, both widgets cost $120. So the net result is that $95 and $100 widgets become non-existent. And if I continue to purchase one, I forgo a $20-25 purchase of something else that I previously could have made. Net result - my standard of living decreases. But hey, all you are interested in is punishing China, right? Let me know how that works for you.
Of course you could simply look a few years back when Obama did the same thing with Chinese tires. Guess what happened? Americans ended up paying an extra $1.1 billion for tires, and 3,700 retail jobs were lost. On top of that, China retaliated with tariffs on American chicken resulting in $1 billion in lost sales.
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. And those who implement Democrat policies doom everyone.
