How was The Bismark sunk?KMS Bismarck was sunk in at least seven and possibly eight phases.Phase 1: Dawn May 24, 1941; Battle of the Denmark Strait: Bismarck (in company with heavy cruiser KMS Prinz Eugen) sinks HMS Hood and severely damages HMS Prince of Wales, but a 14″ shell hit forward from the latter holes Bismark’s fuel bunker, slowing her to 29 knots, restricting her operational range and forcing her to abandon her mission to disrupt Atlantic convoy routes.
