Lung cancer has long been known to affect more men than women. But a new study suggests that the trend — at least among young people — may be taking a turn.

Although incidence rates of lung cancer for most groups of people remain higher among men than women, the study, published May 23, 2018, in The New England Journal of Medicine, found that this isn’t the case for non-Hispanic white men and women and Hispanic men and women born since the mid-1960s.
