Well it's popular in today's America to blame the lawyer but the basic fact is that it's the people bringing the lawsuits that are to blame.... not the lawyers.
Having a lawyer with "skin in the game" is a two edged sword, in my experience there are just as many folks on the right as there are on the left who bring questionable claims. It kinda reminds me of people blaming the fire arm for mass shootings, rather than the individual pulling the trigger.....
That isn't my point. A lawyer would be far less likely to roll the bones on a thing if he stood to actually lose money... Not losing a contingent fee... but actually having to dig his wallet out of his pants.
As it is, unless it is pro-bono, the lawyer walks away without harm... and probably paid. The lawyer doesn't lose (in real terms).
If they pay too when they lose, suddenly, activism becomes expensive.
