Trump is just pizzed because Jeff Bezos' other company, The Washington Post, doesn't publish adoring articles about him.  He can't interfere in the Post without violating freedom of the press, so he is going after Amazon.

Seems to me he is interfering with a business' operations and is trying to use his office to ruin companies he doesn't like.  I should think both are illegal.  But really who is going to stop him?  Certainly not the present lazy, corrupt congress.

In fairness, WaPo doesn't only not publish adoring articles about him, they publish negative, weakly-or-not-at-all-sourced, and sometimes all-out-fake stories about him.  We should all be upset with WaPo, even if we don't like their current target.

Well if Trump is successful on his war against Amazon, I bet you that a Dem administration will go after Walmart.

Why? Weren't the Clintons on the board of directors for Walmart?

They oppose unionization.

Capitalism for me, but not for thee....

Yes.  But we must still call Trump a 'Conservative' and berate everyone who does not genuflect and show unwavering loyalty to Trump.

After all, we are said to be aiding his powerful corrupt enemies if we criticize him on issues like this - which makes us traitors.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

She should tell him to F.O. he is not her boss. The Post Office is a independent NGA (non governmental agency) . It hasn't been a cabinet level agency since 1971.

I am so glad we no longer have Obama, but at least Obama gave a breather between idiocies.

Now, it's every few days we get an "ah, jeez" stupidity coming out.

For that matter, news media in general has become biased, unsourced and full of rumor and gossip masquerading as news.  That includes Fox as well.  But Fox publishes numerous  adorning stories about Trump -- which is why Trump won't go after them.

This is how Trump and his supporters define "fake news."  If the story is unfavorable to Trump, it must be fake.  If the story idolizes Trump, it's real.  It doesn't occur to ardent Trump fans that those glowing stories about their idol might be fake too.

It is interesting. One example they cite often is WaPo's report that Comey was about to be fired. On several threads some have called this out as a perfect example of how WaPo 'makes up stories', yet on a recent thread where that came up, I pointed out that Breitbart and Fox both ran with the same story at the same time.

Yes, it could be totally fake for fake's sake.
It could be they were fed misinformation.
It could be they were honestly wrong.
Or it could be that the story was true when they received it and because it was reported, the dynamic changed and the decision makers pivoted.

Blindly yelling fake is useless if you don't know 'why' it is wrong.

Amazon is being charged less than actual cost is what Trump is referring to and other customers are paying more.

Trump needs to leave Amazon alone.

Not true. If that’s what Trump is gassing on about, then he’s simply wrong (once again).  The post office by law cannot charge less than cost.  The post office loses money because of the legal requirement that it fully fund retirement benefits.  In that respect, it is the only employer under such a mandate.

Which of course isn't true. The USPS even shows that their package delivery is one of their few profitable areas. Their losses don't come from this but unreasonable pension funding requirements they have which other companies don't (they are required to pre-fund 70 years worth to other companies having to fund 20).

To put it simply, the president has been lying through his teeth about this.

Amazon is already working on their own shipping methods. Charging them double will only make that happen sooner. This will not end well for Trump.

Amazon does a lot of shipping via UPS.

In all fairness, what President post Reagan didn't show a preference to being a king? Judging by the Executive Actions signed by these Presidents, they prefer the "stroke of the pen, law of the land" as opposed to governing as the Constitution intended.
