I think the Stormy Daniels affair is being kept in the news by two interrelated things: (1) Trump and his associates continuing to mismanage it (e.g., Trump and Cohen’s continued conflicting stories about it) and (2) Stormy hiring an attorney in Michael Avenatti who might be better than Trump at leveraging the media to his advantage. Every inconsistent and conflicting story that comes from the Trump camp plays right into Avenatti’s hands and keeps the story in the news: just more unforced errors IMO.
Does it hurt Trump or help him to have this farce out front?
The Occam’s Razor explanation is much simpler: Stormy extorted Trump for $130,000 claiming there was an affair, (as the two had met on several occasions during that era).
I can’t see how stories of alleged infidelity and hush money can “help†the President.
Are either Daniels or Avenatti coming across as being credible?

The NDA was signed by Daniels in 2016, not 2006. And the payment was in 2016, not 2006. The author can’t get basic facts straight, so the remainder of his screed, which depends on his false facts, is also suspect.
Are you even paying attention? Avenatti is now staring down the barrel of prison time for serious tax evasion, he has been caught in multiple lies and his case is going nowhere since he started this mission for his employers at the DNC. Christ, he has been reduced to sending bizarre cease and desist letters to the Daily Caller he is so pathetic.
