This comes as a complete surprise to me.

Prince William suggests he may not succeed the Queen and his father as head of the Commonwealth

The Duke of Cambridge has acknowledged that he may not succeed the Queen and the Prince of Wales as head of the Commonwealth, as he vowed not to be "telling people what to do".

Reflecting on his eight-day Caribbean tour, the Duke spoke candidly about how it had "brought into even sharper focus" questions about the past and the future.

It followed a last-minute change to a speech in which he acknowledged that relationships with Commonwealth countries would “evolve”, as he sought to change the narrative of a tour that has been criticised for being out of touch and rooted in the past.

As they boarded a flight home, the Duke said: “Catherine and I are committed to service. For us, that's not telling people what to do. It is about serving and supporting them in whatever way they think best, by using the platform we are lucky to have.

“It is why tours such as this reaffirm our desire to serve the people of the Commonwealth and to listen to communities around the world. Who the Commonwealth chooses to lead its family in the future isn't what is on my mind.

“What matters to us is the potential the Commonwealth family has to create a better future for the people who form it, and our commitment to serve and support as best we can.”

In 2018, Commonwealth leaders decided that the Prince of Wales should succeed the Queen in the honorary, non-hereditary position. There have been suggestions that it might be rotated among Commonwealth leaders........

Long overdue that this monarchy nonsense end.  They live their lives while much of Great Britain live a life of poverty.  And that serf class was supposed to have ended centuries ago.  Ha!

The typical Brit lives in poverty? WTH did you get that from, some survey of African boat people living in public housing and mad because they don't have mansions?

Pictures: Tearful Queen Elizabeth II, Royal Family Attend Memorial for Prince Phillip

About 1,800 family members and guests attended the memorial. Only 30 people were allowed at the funeral, conducted under strict lockdown rules that forced the queen to sit alone wearing a black mask as she mourned the loss of her husband of 73 years. Philip, duke of Edinburgh, died on April 9 at age 99.

The Rev. David Conner remembered Philip’s service to the queen and dedication to environmental protection and his commitment to equipping young people with the skills they need to succeed through his Duke of Edinburgh Award.

“Through his passionate commitment, he drew others to himself in admiration and respect and, in the case of those who lived and worked most closely to him, genuine love,” Conner said.

There were also subtler honors, delivered as the royals often do through their clothing choices. Elizabeth, her daughter, Princess Anne, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were all dressed in dark green – echoing Philip’s livery color of Edinburgh Green.

Andrew 'defiant but isolated': Senior royals 'avoided eye contact and acted like they didn't see him' after he escorted the Queen to Prince Philip's memorial says body language expert, with Charles and William 'uneasy' at disgraced duke's prominent role

Body language expert claims the Duke of York showed 'signs of arrogance' despite family's cold shoulder

Cheeky Charlotte takes the lead! Princess, six, charms the Archbishop of Canterbury and smiles for the camera - while big brother George, eight, looks rather more serious

The six-year-old royal charmed the Archbishop of Canterbury and smiled at herself on screen
Her older brother Prince George, eight, was typically more serious and kept a straight face throughout

Princess Charlotte stole the show while adorable Prince George looked typically serious as they joined their parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Prince Philip's service of thanksgiving today.

Cheeky Charlotte, six, charmed the Archbishop of Canterbury and smiled to photographers as she made her grand entrance at Westminster Abbey.

At one point the schoolgirl princess pulled a funny face after apparently catching sight of herself on a screen, prompting viewers to giggle over her 'sparkling' personality.

In contrast her eight-year-old brother George - dressed as his daddy's double in a suit and tie - looked far more sombre, perhaps because he had a better understanding of the gravity of the situation.

So sad that the two brothers are no longer close.  Things were just fine prior to Markle.  I've seen it happen many times; a snot-nosed biotch can destroy a family!

Prince Harry ‘Won’t Be Invited’ to Prince William’s 40th Birthday Party—Here’s Why

It seems Prince Harry’s Prince William birthday invite won’t be going out in the mail anytime soon. The Duke of Cambridge has reportedly decided not to invite his younger brother, or Meghan Markle, to his milestone 40th birthday party over the summer.

William turns 40 on June 21, 2022. According to Heatworld, the future king reportedly worries it will “bring a whole fresh set of problems” if his brother Prince Harry and his wife Meghan attend his birthday party in the U.K. An insider who spoke to the site in March 2022 revealed that Harry and William’s relationship has only continued to sour following the Duke of Sussex’s decision to not attend their grandfather Prince Philip’s memorial service, which took place in London nearly a year after the Duke of Edinburgh passed away at the age of 99 in April 2021.

“William still loves Harry—that will never change—but his apparent insensitivity makes him persona non grata at the moment and it will take some miracle for that to change,” the source, who was identified as being close to William himself, told the site.

The insider went on to note William has little in common with his little brother anymore, and is concerned over what his presence in the U.K. would be mean right now. “The feeling is that, even if Harry and Meghan decided to come to William’s celebration, and that is a big if, their presence would bring a whole fresh set of problems, and nobody wants that,” the source said. “The sad truth is that William barely recognizes, let alone relates to, his younger brother anymore.”............

Buckingham Palace Reveals Queen Elizabeth Will Not Attend Easter Week Service

Buckingham Palace announced on Friday that Queen Elizabeth is bowing out of an Easter week event and that Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will attend in her place.

The palace said that the 95-year-old monarch would not attend the Royal Maundy Service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Thursday, ahead of Easter Sunday.

The palace did not specify the reason for the queen’s cancelation. Reporter Victoria Murphy of Town & Country said that it was understood the queen “was unable to commit to this event in advance and was keen to avoid overshadowing the event on the day.”

The queen’s health has been called into question over the past few months. She was hospitalized in October and tested positive for COVID-19 in February.................

This is not good.  I think that the Queen may be forced to step down soon for health reasons.  I'm fond of the Queen and am sorry to hear this as well as she won't be attending Easter service.

Queen pulls out of annual Maundy Day church service for the first time

The Queen has pulled out of attending the annual Maundy Day church service and will be represented for the first time by the Prince of Wales, Buckingham Palace has said.

The monarch, 95, was due to attend the service at St George's Chapel in Windsor on the Thursday before Easter Sunday.

It has been reported the Queen, who has been experiencing mobility issues, was unable to commit to the event, which is an important fixture in the royal calendar.

With the order of service being printed, she was said to be keen for the arrangements to be confirmed to avoid any misunderstanding or the day to be overshadowed.................
