Some wildly good pop in the '70s. Middle of the Road is a Scottish band.

Mud, another one of those bands that didn't make it over here.

Sorry...

Rubettes, popular among other places, Poland, another band playing retro type music, "Sugar Baby Love" is pretty good.

Representing Britain, the Beatles finished the recording of this jewel (which they were asked to write specifically for the program) live on Our World, the first live international television broadcast in June 1967 . . . they invited guests to the studio for the segment, including Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull, Eric Clapton, Graham Nash (then still with the Hollies), Keith Moon (of the Who), and the Small Faces. The Beatles had pre-recorded a basic backing track; for the broadcast, and to finish the song, the strings and horns played live. The Beatles played the following live: Paul McCartney's bass lines; George Harrison's brief guitar solo; Ringo Starr's drumming (except the opening drumroll---he dubbed that onto the record after the broadcast after using just a tambourine for the opening horn riffage); and all Beatles vocals including John Lennon's lead. The original live broadcast was black and white; the colourising came when the surviving Beatles made The Beatles Anthology . . .

Sorry...

A month later, Lennon and McCartney returned the favour to Jagger---they sang backing harmonies when the Rolling Stones recorded "We Love You," an A-side single in England but the B-side of their American hit "Dandelion."

Lesser known bands,

This reminds me of another song. I To me, it sounds a bit like "Call Me" which Frank Sinatra sang and another song I can't think of.  Decent song though.

Sorry...

Might have heard this before. IMHO, worth a listen.  Has a hook to it.
