Posts like this lead to charges that NTs support the left.

Perhaps people who elect long time New York liberals who's closets are full of sewage to the Presidency are the ones who actually further the cause of the left... This outcome was predictable. And now the GOP is fully tethered to it...

I agree with those that say the narrow focus of Russia has turned into the broad brush of over-reach, and it shouldn't have ever been allowed to.
Clinton argued the same thing, that Whitewater ended up as Lewinsky, and he had a logical argument about the broad brush, too.

Still, since the topic is Giuliani says Trump paid $130G to Cohen for 'expenses' over several months , I'd say Trump knew, the Feds now know that Trump knew, and Rudy is out there, putting it out now so it won't come out as a bombshell later.

Whether one is AT or NT or ST (sometimes Trump), isn't really the topic at hand here.

My exact thought when I read it...How do NeverTrumpers like being on the same side of the political divide with Democrat leftists; how can they live with themselves?

I assume...and have always assumed, like most of the planet, that he's had many affairs and paid of many other "morally casual" women to keep their mouths shut over the years....and in nearly all cases, his lawyers handled the whole affair leaving him full and plausible deniability. Nobody voted for President Trump because of his marital fidelity or his sexual abstinence...nor against him for that matter. As long as all of his relations were consensual, nobody cares who he slept with nor whom he paid to be silent afterwards.
I could not have made my own thoughts more clearly.
Your moral compass is intact. While it is tough for me to admit, you are unassailably correct., Nobody...absolutely nobody voted for President Trump because of his sexual abstinence.  I can't deny it any longer.

In return for conceding that point I ask, in light of your own words, you admit Trump had the affair, told Cohen to pay Storm off a month before the election, and continues to lie to every voter in America today.

Thanx

Stormy was paid off 6 days before the election, had hellary got ahold of this he would have been burnt toast.

I actually rather doubt that.  I don’t think it would have done him any more harm than the p-grabbing tape did.

And we're still waiting for a solution from the NTs.

@Mesaclone

So what?  Well, the "what" for me is that Trump lied about the payoff.  Trump is a liar.  Always has been and always will be.

So your counterargument might be that all politicians lie.  But I was always told by Trump supporters that Trump is not a politician.  Guess that's a lie too.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I have always expected my leaders to be better persons than I am.  I expect them to have character when it counts.  You might think this business of accusations from a porn star don't matter.  Well, it does matter to me.  If Trump lied about this matter, what other lies has he told?

Trump supporters have indicated a willingness to overlook his bad behavior and his lies as long as he is producing results.  Well, I'd like to know just what results has he produced.  We still have Obamacare, tax reform was a mere tweak, illegals are flooding this country, his supposedly conservative SCOTUS nominee isn't so conservative after all and he signed a spending spree bill to put this country even further into debt.  Are those the results you were looking for?  They aren't mine.

I don't know what it will take for Trump supporters to stop defending him and realize they have been bamboozled by a con artist.  It's not a terrible thing to admit you backed the wrong horse.  I've done that many times in my life.  Only means we are human.  We make mistakes in trusting the wrong people.  Or maybe this is what Trump supporters want.  They want a lying con artist.  These are usually the same people who didn't like Obama because, among other things, he too was a lying con artist.  But I guess for many of them, they don't care if Trump does the same things because Trump is "their" lying con artist.

@Applewood   No one picked the wrong horse.  People voted for Trump because of what he promised to do for America and he has made a strong effort to keep those promises.

As far as your list goes, Trump was unable to totally get rid of Obamacare because of Congress but the worst aspect of Obamacare was removed, as you well know.

Tax reform may not be perfect but it is a good start and a help to many families.

Gorsuch made a ruling you don't like but it was justified because it was a bad bill he couldn't sign just because you wanted him to.

Trump is making progress in replacing bad judges with good and he is on the verge of getting his travel ban approved.

Illegals are not flooding this country but too many are coming in.  Obama completely disarmed ICE agents and it will take more than a year to get all his pro-illegal policies changed.

As far as Trump's private life long before entering politics, I'm not a fan of that but it doesn't disqualify him.  I can remember when people were aghast because Adlai Stevenson had been divorced.

1.  The law is what 9 SCOTUS judges decide.
2.  No crime needs to be committed to prove Obstruction of Justice.
3.  It maybe easier to impeach with a rat congress.

Enjoy the winning

Obstruction of justice? Look, I'm not fond of the guy either, but what obstruction of justice?

Actually, I'd imagine he took great pains NOT to know what the money was for...that's the whole point of the agreement he had with the lawyer. You pay a lot of money NOT to know and to let the attorney handle it. Nothing illegal about that, it actually keeps him from having to lie about it, and the whole event tells us and the public nothing new about President Trump. Clearly, he won't be elected to the position of Church Lady. As President, he's good to go...because nothing in this was not already assumed about Donald Trump the man. More importantly, none of this has anything to do with his service as President...nor does paying off an old liaison to keep quiet alter the view held by his supporters or by the Independents who voted for Trump to be President.

I realize those who hate him will grab at any straw, but this dog just don't hunt.

And yes, I love mixing non-sensical platitudes to accentuate non-sensical arguments put forward by non-sensical haters of the President. Its kind of a hobby.

That's a given and I fully agree.  But again, what crime has President Trump committed and how did he obstruct justice?  So far, they have found that he has committed no crime, and giving money to his attorney isn't a crime; certainly not an obstruction of justice.

@corbe    I thought you were gone???  Trump would not have been toast because everyone already knew that he had a few unsavory episodes in his past.  And if you want to trade unsavory pasts, I think Hillary has him beat by a few miles.

Was their sex or was this dame just trying to extort money from the Trump campaign because she knew Trump?

@darroll   Yes to both.  There was sex and this hooker is trying to extort money.

Two things.

First, you really believe lawyers just pay out money without talking to their client first? How's the lawyer to know if there's anything to "disclose" or not? If so, Trump Inc. must be quite the candy store...

And as far as electing "Church Lady" goes, that is exactly the defense that was made for Clinton in the 90s... There's some irony...

Oh, so they voted for Trump to make the trains run on time...

The details don't matter...

Sounds just like Clinton's defense back in the 90's... He "compartmentalized"... The good and the bad were two completely isolated things - in the same man...

Completely different from Clinton. Clinton screwed an intern IN the White House...but even that wasn't the real issue. What Clinton was in trouble for was perjury, and that's why he was impeached.

Even if Trump knew of the payoff...another who cares...he hasn't committed perjury by testifying otherwise in court, nor has he committed any other related crime.

Must I explain to you the difference between a lie and perjury. Nearly everyone on earth tells a lie now and then, only a select few commit perjury...the first is a personal failure, the second a crime. Hope that helps.

Let's not start this crap on a thread that has been reasonably discussing this latest news.

Of course they have to start that crap.   It is the only motivation and operating principle they have left: to attack anyone as an enemy who dares criticize, question or disagree with Trump.

Even when the news illustrates a demonstrable lack of character, malfeasance and the appearance of evil that this people say is no big deal anymore, as long as it is their prince and party who does it.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

No, no, no @DB   People voted for Trump because of the things he promised and stood for in the primaries.

I don't think people are all that worried about the trains but they are worried about the economy, about controlling illegal immigration and about getting rid of useless and expensive government agencies that do more harm than good, i.e. the EPA, etc.
