After a difficult, monthlong journey from Central America to the US-Mexico border, dozens of asylum-seeking migrants are vowing to remain outside an immigration processing center until "every last one" is admitted into the country, an organizer with the caravan said late Sunday.

Earlier, the migrants marched from Friendship Park in Tijuana, Mexico to the San Ysidro port of entry. They stood on the Mexican side; on the other side lay San Diego, California. It was the final leg for some in the caravan of hundreds of migrants, which had reached Tijuana on Tuesday.

Alex Mensing, an organizer with Pueblo Sin Fronteras, which assembled the caravan, said 50 migrants were admitted to the immigration processing center. He said the decision to not return to the nearby shelter overnight was made in solidarity with the asylum seekers who are inside the facility.

But the migrants' fate is uncertain. Before the group arrived, US Customs and Border Patrol officials said the port had already reached full capacity, and migrants trying to get into the United States may need to wait in Mexico as officials process those already in the facility.

---It is not illegal to enter the country at a port of entry and ask for asylum, as international law requires that the United States consider asylum claims. The migrants say they're not planning to sneak across the border, but to turn themselves in peacefully and ask for asylum.

"People who have a legitimate fear of persecution under US law have a right to present their case," Rep. Zoe Lofgren, the top Democrat on the House subcommittee on immigration, said on Monday. "That's not a violation of immigration law. That's a part of immigration law."

In general, having asylum granted is difficult. More than three-quarters of immigrants seeking asylum from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala between 2011 and 2016 lost their cases, according to immigration court statistics published by Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse.

Maybe the pope will make another appearance and help their cause.   :silly:
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

In days past, invading hordes were greeted with swift retribution. This country barely tries to repel them.

These parasites are really forcing this administration's hand here. It had better step up.

Well.....gee.   Why don't they just seek asylum in Mexico then.  If their native countries are that bad, surely Mexico would be an improvement.  Right?

But no, that wouldn't be furthering the leftist Cloward-Piven agenda now... would it.

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Gee, it couldn't possibly be because Mexico is a shithole.

That, apparently, nobody is willing to call out for being such.  They want to preach to us about immigration or 'anything'?   They need to be preached to about cleaning up their own mess.  Same with the countries these immigrants are coming from.  Nobody wants to say it... but what they're really fleeing from is the end result (always) of leftists in control of running and ruining nations.  And they want to come 'here' so they can eventually vote and screw up our country?  Not just no, but HELL NO.

Why these migrants want to live in the U.S. when the country to the north will welcome them with open arms is  is beyond me.  Canadians pride themselves on their liberalism and have for themselves one of the stupidest...er...most liberal politicians for Prime Minister you could imagine.
I'm sure Justine Trudeau would be more than glad to usher in many millions of Hispanic immigrants to Canada's sunny climes to partake in the shared humanity of Canadians and third world denizens some of whom are actually literate and law-abiding.   22222frying pan

"Migrants who traveled with caravan vow to wait at border until they are processed"

Fine.
Let them sit there... forever.

So long as they are there (and not here), they remain Mexico's problem.

I sense that if we are wise enough to keep the door closed, eventually the Mexican government will tire of them and force them to go in the "other direction"...
