Yes, this is where libertarians intersect with the establishment. And, fairly open borders worked for many years because there were no public benefits available to those who crossed over and came here. They could work, but the work was that which no one else would do, and education, welfare, drivers licenses, etc. benefits were not available to non-citizens. So, it was almost only men who came, and they would go back home regularly with their earnings. They were in no way here permanently. The combination of open borders and massively attractive immigration magnets are creating a disaster.
