Social media mocked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday for writing a flattering piece about President Trump for Time's list of the 100 most influential people, despite past battles between the two men.

Cruz called Trump a “flash bang grenade” in the blurb, saying that the president had followed through on his promise to "disrupt the status quo."

"The fact that his first year as Commander in Chief disoriented and distressed members of the media and political establishment is not a bug but a feature,” Cruz wrote.
