Robbers pick fight with man in a wheelchair, who turned out to be a 6ft 7in tall Afghanistan veteran

Roger Mercer, an army veteran who uses a wheelchair heroically fought off two robbers who threatened him with an eight-inch knife

An Afghan veteran successfully tackled knife wielding thugs who attempted to rob him while he was out training in his wheelchair.

On Sunday evening two men approached Roger Mercer, 38, on a canal towpath and demanded his mobile phone.

However Mr Mercer, who is 6ft 7inchs, managed to swiped the eight inch curved blade out one of the men's hands before knocking him to the ground  with a single blow, before ramming his thumb into the eye socket of the other as he attempted to grab the wheelchair from behind and get him in a headlock.

The men then pushed Mr Mercer over before fleeing empty-handed from the scene in Blacon, Chester.

I don't care what the code of thieves is, it's pretty low when you attack someone in a wheelchair and just to steal their cellphone? This should be a story to follow to hope they can capture such persons.
