Abandoned medieval village is uncovered near Cambridge alongside an archaeological treasure trove (and it includes an Anglo Saxon bone flute and a Roman pedant depicting the head of MEDUSA)
The abandoned village is thought to have been occupied from the eighth to the 12th centuries AD
Earlier remains of up to 40 Anglo Saxon timber buildings are also identifiable alongside winding alleys
More than 250 archaeologists are excavating a large area of road between Cambridge and Huntingdon
Artefacts uncovered during the project include Roman pottery and a Middle Iron Age timber ladder
