Two more high-power attorneys have had to turn down President Donald Trump. Tom Buchanan and Dan Webb confirmed to The Daily Beast that Trump reached out to them about representing him, and that they couldn’t do it.

“President Trump reached out to Dan Webb and Tom Buchanan to provide legal representation,” they said in a statement. “They were unable to take on the representation due to business conflicts. However they consider the opportunity to represent the President to be the highest honor and they sincerely regret that they cannot do so. They wish the president the best and believe he has excellent representation in Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow.”

Buchanan is a partner at the firm Winston & Strawn, in its Washington office. Webb is the firm’s co-executive chairman, based in Chicago, according to the firm’s website.

A spokesperson for the White House did not immediately return a request for comment.

Buchanan and Webb’s decision highlights the challenges the president has faced in assembling a legal team to represent him for matters related to the Mueller probe. Over the weekend, Trump tweeted that numerous lawyers were eager to work for him. But so far, his team has been shrinking rather than expanding.

Meh....  most members of Congress are lawyers, and almost all the Judiciary...... something 'Bout Content of Character to be found there..... Methinks.

And it ain't flattering.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning, they want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.

A lawyer at least what is considered a "good one"  chooses his/her clients very carefully. Most folks think you hire the lawyer, but if the lawyer has been out of law school for more than a few years and has any type of practice they become very selective and 'hire' the client..

From a lawyers perspective Trump is a nightmare client, he cant keep his mouth shut and he won't take your advice. In spite of this, when Trump was a private individual no lawyer in his right mind would turn down those billable hours....

However, now that he is POTUS an added liability is that every bill will be scrutinized with a fine tooth comb and  most of the top lawyers in the business will simply decline to represent him as they dont need the problems and they have lots of rich guys seeking their services without public scrutiny...

Lawyers are giving him the "it's not you, it's me" brush off routine.  Everyone knows that really means "yeah, dude...it's definitely you."

The Toensing/DiGenova meeting sounds like it was a disaster.

There was also concern about their ages (he’s 73, she’s 76), their penchant for extolling unfounded theories, and the president was turned off because they looked disheveled when they came to meet with him last week.

It probably also freaked him out that they dress alike and perhaps share their wardrobe.

I disagree.  Circle gets the square.
