Press hypes up Don Jr’s wife hiring a ‘criminal attorney’ for divorce. Here’s the truth about the split.

Once again, the press is making much ado about nothing. After Page Six reported on Friday that Vanessa Trump hired a “criminal defense attorney” to represent her during her divorce from Donald Trump, Jr., media outlets speculated the move was related to the ongoing Russia probe. The truth was less sensational.

Vanessa Trump had a simpler explanation for why she chose Feureisen: he’s a longtime acquaintance of her family who practices multiple areas of law.  A spokeswoman for Mrs. Trump told Page Six:  “Vanessa’s attorney is someone whom she and her family have known for over 20 years. He practices in many areas of the law and … is not a criminal defense attorney.”

The couple appears to not be fighting over custody or assets, and are set to settle their divorce quietly out of court.
