The personal assistant to President Donald Trump who was escorted from the White House on security grounds was said Wednesday to be struggling with gambling addiction.

Sources close to John McEntee, a 27-year-old college football star, told NBC News about the problem he had struggled with and suggested it was related to him failing background security checks.

Both the Secret Service and the FBI are reported to be probing whether McEntee, Trump's 'body man' committed serious financial crimes.

Probably lied on his SF86 and this stuff was discovered during the follow up investigations...all kinds of people have skeletons in their closets and in this instance, this fella probably never thought the day would come that his would come dancing out.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion

Most likely.  I guess I don't understand why it take so long to complete these background checks.  Shouldn't they be a priority?

Well, as we found out with Porter, the results came back in a reasonable amount of time.  Unfortunately, the information was derogatory and the WH Personnel Office said ‘look into this more.’  In the meantime, they’re operating in a position they probably shouldn’t be with interim clearance.

@Right_in_Virginia

The backlog is extraordinary...up to 24 months in some cases...the USG is failing us big time due to bureaucracy and ineptitude.  I'm overdue almost a year on my 5 year update and submitted my paperwork almost 6 months ago...I have had a TS or + clearance since 1988....smdh.   :shrug:
