No, Trump's not going to take away your guns
by Siraj Hashmi | Mar 1, 2018, 9:17 AM

Despite what you may have heard on Wednesday, President Trump is definitely not coming after your guns no matter how amenable he appeared to be during an on-camera bipartisan meeting at the White House on gun control proposals.

(He isn't, right?)

While talking with lawmakers, Trump appeared to disagree with Vice President Mike Pence, who wanted to ensure that no one's rights were infringed on with respect to gun control legislation.

"Take the firearms first and then go to court," Trump said. "Because that’s another system — a lot of times by the time you go to court, it takes so long to go to court, to get the due process procedures."

(He didn't just say what I think he did, did he?)

Trump's stand on guns has historically been in favor of banning them.  Nothing new.

What is "new" is Trump's supposed "Conservatism" and pro-gun stance - which I think is a front of supreme bullshit.

The fact is, whether he meant it or not, Trump's comments yesterday about 'taking the guns first and due process later' and his explanation of that - has done irrevocable damage to the BOR by handing such an overt treasonous and unConstitutional act - legitimacy.  Legitimacy that will now forever be a legal wedge to be used to do what the State says it needs to do for "public safety" and worry about due process rights 'later'.   However, as it currently exists, due process  is mostly lip service.  Just ask anyone who suffered Asset Forfeiture because the police determined their belongings and possessions were gotten by "ill gain".  Ask anyone who had cash seized from them by police over nothing more than a charge that cash is somehow 'drug money'.

The President has gift wrapped this issue for the Anti-Gun crowd.  He himself may not take away our guns (if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor), but he has armed the people and institutions who will.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775
