President Trump is not a particularly popular president.

His job approval rating has not crossed 50 percent for a single day of his presidency. He's currently riding as high as he ever has in the RealClearPolitics poll average -- and that's 41 percent. Statistics guru Nate Silver estimates that "the approval rating at which an incumbent candidate goes from being an underdog to a favorite for re-election is somewhere in the high 40s." Furthermore, Democrats are favored to retake the House of Representatives in 2018 -- they've been dramatically outperforming their poll numbers in special elections. And there's always the possibility that the economy will tank: America has experienced an economic downturn at least once per decade for the past several decades, and our last serious downturn was in 2009.

With all of that said, Democrats can still find a way to blow this.

Exactly.  Then they try to take a horrible school shooting, and blame it on guns.  The shooter was under the eye of everyone, yet the gun is at fault.  I will never understand liberals.

My BIL was murdered here in AZ by four illegal aliens using a baseball bat.  His crime?  Having blue eyes.  I do not blame his murder on the bat.

That's there agenda.  Resist anything and everything proposed by the Republicans even if it's something we want.

And then blame the Republicans for nothing getting done.

It's a winning strategy for them for decades...its cowed the Republicans into not being able or willing to rebut the blatant falsehoods and let the Democrat narrative stand unopposed.

Pubbies trying to unseat incumbents need to ask the Dem, loud and long, What Legislation have You Personally authored in the last year to make life easier, better, and free-er, for the average working stiff, the guy and gal You claim to represent.

Where's Your bill, Senator, to put more money and a Better life into the hands of the Citizens You have Actually done NOTHING AT ALL for.
