'Beast from the East' to plunge UK, rest of Europe into historic deep freeze
Andrew Freedman

A bone-chilling, frigid air mass will soon stretch from Ireland to Siberia, as a record-shattering weather pattern establishes itself across the North Atlantic Ocean. The cold will cause temperatures to plunge well below freezing in London, where snow is likely to fall during the next 1 to 2 weeks.

The U.K. Met Office is calling the cold snap "exceptional," saying it will be the coldest air to affect the country since at least 2013. The cold winds from Siberia, which are pushing the frigid air westward into Central Europe and the UK, are popularly known as "The Beast from the East."

The coldest since way back in 2003?

That must be a crisis of awful proportions, calling for an all out government escalation of services, raising taxes, spending, etc. Since 2003.

They used to have generations-long ice ages. The people roamed from south-to-north-and-then-north-to south.

All they had was costumes with animal heads for disguise, lest the monsters of winter, slay them.

Reread that. It says the coldest since 2013. That was like almost a whole couple years ago!

Europe Is Bracing For The Most Severe Cold Snap in Years

The "beast from the east".
JASON SAMENOW, THE WASHINGTON POST
24 FEB 2018

Computer model forecasts are advertising a bout of bitter cold to sweep over Europe over the next several days, very possibly the most extreme of the winter and perhaps in several years.

"The well anticipated most widespread #cold temperatures across northern Eurasia since #winter 2013 is imminent," tweeted Judah Cohen, a meteorologist at Atmospheric and Environmental Research, a weather risk management firm.

Global warming.

Winter was brutal for my neck of the woods up until about 2 weeks ago.  We had some sprng-like temperatures, but winter is forecasted to return by the end of the week.

It's all part of life in cold weather climates.  European snowflakes will just have to tough it out like the rest of us.
