Senate to vote on two-year budget Thursday

The Senate is expected to vote Thursday on a two-year budget deal that would substantially increase spending and suspend the debt ceiling for a year.

It is intended to avert a second government shutdown this year and gives lawmakers who wanted more money for the military a big win.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) hailed it as a breakthrough after months of partisan fighting that stalled spending legislation and caused a three-day shutdown last month.

LOL. Sure everyone is on board. No debt ceiling and spending as far as anyone can see. The Uniparty has decided not to bother running things anymore and just live large. Freebies for everyone.

How a law is made: Unveil legislation shortly before midnight of a deal worked out between leaders behind closed doors, with members having little time to read it; jam it through both chambers Thursday with just hours before shutdown deadline. #congress.

A planned spending spree is not a budget.  These guys wouldn't know a real budget if it bit them in the rear.  None of them would survive in a real world business.

You're missing what happened here, @Frank Cannon  , IMO.

Pres. Trump came out and gleefully said, paraphrased... "if the Democrats aren't going to vote to fund our military, then I'd LOVE to see a shutdown.... SHUT IT DOWN!"

I just hope nothing is written in stone yet.

My figuring is if we get rid of chain of migration, dang, we would have lotsa dollars for "our" war chest.
