White House Wants Pentagon to Offer More Options on North Korea

WASHINGTON — The White House has grown frustrated in recent weeks by what it considers the Pentagon’s reluctance to provide President Trump with options for a military strike against North Korea, according to officials, the latest sign of a deepening split in the administration over how to confront the nuclear-armed regime of Kim Jong-un.


The national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, believes that for Mr. Trump’s warnings to North Korea to be credible, the United States must have well-developed military plans, according to those officials.

Thanks for the ping.  If North Korea attacks South Korea, our airman at our air base near the demilitarized zone are dead.  My son spent duty time at that air base.  He said North Korea has huge tunnels from their side to our side, large enough for trucks to pass, and if they attack suddenly, between their missiles and those tunnels, our air base cannot stop that and they will all be killed rapidly.  So will millions of citizens in South Korea.

As far as Trump is concerned, he wants a war so he can claim a "bigly" win.  The only life that matters to him is his and his grown children and I leave his wife and her son out of that. The wife is only his latest "furniture", that is disposable.  I expect him to go for the "bloody their nose" and end up killing millions over there AND HERE as the "bigly" guy in North Korea wants all of us dead.

Um.... methinks that you have gone off the deep end here, with all due respect.   To suggest that Trump not only 'wants' a war with NK....but that he doesn't care about the life of his son and wife is.... (again, with all due respect)...

Sorry....but.... this ain't the era of Soylent Green YET.   It appears that your distaste for Trump is causing you to 'think' that you know what he thinks and feels.   I think you need to get a reality grip.   You don't like him.  I get that.... but you dampen your own credibility when you make comments like this. JUST SAYIN.....

There are no good options when it comes to NK.  China and Russia are supporting them.   They also have support from the Middle East and not just Iran.

Just about any military move puts Japan, SK, Guam, Hawaii and perhaps mainland US in the bullseye of a maniac who would rather die then lose power.   In fact if he can take a bunch of Americans with him it would be considered a win.
