Mitch McConnell slams Nancy Pelosi's 'radical invective' on immigration

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell lashed out at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi in his opening floor speech Monday, criticizing his Democratic counterpart across the Capitol for using “irresponsible racial invective” in her attack on President Trump’s immigration proposal.

Pelosi last week called President Trump’s plan to provide a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million so-called Dreamers a "campaign to make America white again,” because it would fund border security and end chain migration and the diversity visa lottery system.

“Constructive critiques are one thing,” McConnell said. “But the type of irresponsible racial invective used yet again on this subject by the Democratic leader in the House is decidedly unhelpful.”
