Ken Starr: Lying is 'absolutely' grounds for a president to be impeached
by Naomi Lim | Jan 28, 2018, 12:06 PM

Ken Starr, the independent counsel charged with investigating former President Bill Clinton, said Sunday that President Trump's disputed denial that he has never considered firing special counsel Robert Mueller was "absolutely" grounds for impeachment.

"I think lying to the American people is a serious issue that has to be explored. I take lying to the American people very, very seriously. So, absolutely," Starr told ABC.

"I think that is something that Bob Mueller should look at," he added.

High crimes and misdemeanors,   where does 'lying' fit into that?

Ken Starr. What a guy. Was he sent into the media airwaves this day at the behest of the Bush family?

Romney? McCain? Big lie? Small lie? Any lie, or just consequential lies? Did he consult with Billy Kristol first?

Pres. Franklin Roosevelt all but lied to America, over entry into WWII with respect to arming our British cousins.

It was a "good lie," since it was the right thing to do under the exact circumstances of the time, etc.

The radical left has set a very low bar for what constitutes impeachment and removal from office.  And make no mistake.... the radical left seeks to remove Trump from office.   Clinton got away with lying under oath without leaving office.  And Trump is way too smart to ever give them that much ammo.  They are spinning their little wheels on this, IMO.

This is a one time only amnesty and immigration laws will be enforced,
Read my lips no new taxes,
I did not have sex with that woman,
Weapons of mass destruction,
If you like your doctor,
etc.

Name one recent president that did not lie to the American people?

Ken Starr was demoted, then fired, over lying about rapes by the Baylor football players.

There is some huge #nevertrumpian "failure to vet first," itchy finger posting.

Who is your next witness? Denny Hastert?

Clinton's lies to the American public were mentioned in the Summary of the Starr Report:

Quote
In this case, the President made and caused to be made false statements to the American people about his relationship with Ms. Lewinsky. He also made false statements about whether he had lied under oath or otherwise obstructed justice in his civil case. By publicly and emphatically stating in January 1998 that "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" and these "allegations are false," the President also effectively delayed a possible congressional inquiry, and then he further delayed it by asserting Executive Privilege and refusing to testify for six months during the Independent Counsel investigation. This represents substantial and credible information that may constitute grounds for an impeachment.

The only ones that ended up mattering in impeachment were related to his grand jury testimony.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.
