I'm sort of a fan of modern medicine, so I don't see it quite the same way. And, doesn't this rule allow FDA to be circumvented? Sounds like a win-win.
Yes it does allow FDA to be circumvented by Congress.

They are not qualified as medical scientists to make any such decisions.
You've seen them double deal and dirty deal us everywhere else you look.
Why would anyone think they'd become Principled Experts in Medicine just by opening the door for them to accept campaign money, and back door Bribes, from drug makers?
