This is not surprising and it’s not confined to NY. Disciplinary committees rarely act against prosecutors or investigators.
And that is why the world hates lawyers.
In this case, it’s definitely a matter of “professional courtesy†- although they rarely extend the same courtesy to members of the defense bar.
And there's the problem.
The New York barr is as corrupt as everything else in that state.
The problem (broken rule) stated is they didn't provide the proper documented reasoning. However, from a practical standpoint, wouldn't this be a federal issue as it was a violation of federal law and statute, not a state issue to investigate?
