I'm sorry to hear that Chosen and will keep you in my prayers.  Hugs. We may only be forum buddies, but I care!

I am doing very well since my surgery.  I am thankful to God every day for His healing power.  Thank you for the prayers and we do have a relationship here on the forum together.  When you think about it we spend a good amount of time with each other.

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

We all got alerts on our phones but it is now said to be a mistake.

MY daughter told me to eat some ice cream because there's nothing we can do about it.

A few minutes later she texted me to put the ice cream down.  Too late.

Oh no.... You've reached "Critical Ass".    ^-^

Can't stand Oprah.  She is busy all the time pushing every nut case there is.

Not only that, but with the weight-watcher stuff... she is no longer a viable shield to duck and cover behind.

One good thing that might result from this dubious "axedent".... is that attention is drawn to the warning system AND shelter situation around the nation, not just in Hawaii.  Might also be a good time to invest in a fallout shelter construction business (history repeats)...lol.

My mother was a widow with 5 children during the Cuban missile crisis..since we lived closed to Scott Air Force Base she was sure we would be a target...lol....she had a contractor out to measure and give estimates to build a fallout shelter in our basement.

I was down in the basement listening to the discussion and I remember the contractor telling us that under no circumstances to tell anyone what was being built in the basement for fear that if anything would happen that we would be swamped with people trying to get in.

Needless to say she didn't go through with it....I can't remember why she changed her mind..I believe the people she confided in talked her out of it.

Ahem, I am a Mason contractor with hidyhole experience.... tornado country. Been thinkin' 'Bout making them more than just a short term bunker.

As for Hawaii...likely you would not need any long term(months shelter). It would be an air-burst miles above ground. People in the lee of any mountains/volcanoes would be fine, fallout on the Isles would be minimal.... most would be downwind over the ocean.

Underground is a good place to be, shielding from the Gamma burst is the greatest priority.... well outside of the shockwave. Water is a good radiation shield..... maybe some scuba would be a good thing to have on hand. I'd shoot for some shade at 30+ feet.

Question is...why would a sane nation capable of eliminating that problem(NK) ...not go ahead and eliminate said problem.

Probably waiting until after SK winter games.

Note to self, sell NTDOY before then, buy CHK.

When my son moved to a place at Texoma, my daughter-in-law made him have a storm shelter built.    Tornado country, you know.  I don't think they ever went in it.

But we'll probably just move back into complacency mode.

@Emjay I’m glad you are ok. I live so close to Nyc I think I’ll put ice cream in my freezer so my last few minutes on earth would be heavenly.

My father lived in Princeton with his sister during the War of the Worlds broadcast. The story goes while everyone was panicking dad looks out the window and is bummed because he can’t see martians. He then calms his family down. Yay dad! 😇

Thanks, Freya.  Everyone's fine.   Except I didn't get the ice cream.  That War of the Worlds thing was interesting.

All the ice cream talk made me crave some.  Consequently, I raided the freezer.

Glad all are fine, @Emjay
