House Republicans press for harder-line immigration bill

By Scott Wong and Melanie Zanona - 01/09/18 08:24 PM EST

GOP support is building for an immigration bill authored by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) as House Republicans seek to avoid getting jammed by the White House and Senate.

The Goodlatte bill would call for more aggressive enforcement measures and would address thousands of young immigrants whose fate has been in limbo for months.

The stand-alone legislation, which Goodlatte plans to unveil Wednesday, is backed by Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) leadership team.
It has attracted support from both the moderate and conservative wings of the 239-member House Republican Conference, including centrist Rep. Martha McSally (Ariz.) and the Freedom Caucus’s Rep. Raúl Labrador (Idaho).

There are doubts, however, that it could clear the Senate, senior lawmakers said.

The two steps are discussed in this short video ... Step 1: DACA and security (wall, chain migration, lottery immigration); Step 2: Comprehensive Reform (which the President says is halfway done with Step 1 completed)

Trump said he would sign anything dems and R.I.N.O.s presented.... not very encouraging.

Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning, they want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
