Mysterious 1,000-year-old model of the universe 'found' inside pond on side of Mexican volcano

The remnants of a stone 'tetzacualco' - or shrine - were found in the centre of a natural pond below the Iztaccihuatl volcano,

An 1,000-year-old 'mini map of the universe' has been discovered in the foothills of a South American volcano nearly 13,000 feet above sea level, archaeologists believe.

The National Institute of Anthropology and History says the remnants of a stone 'tetzacualco' - or shrine - were found in the centre of a natural pond below the Iztaccihuatl volcano.
