Gin and tonic drinkers are more likely to be psychopaths
Posted 2 days ago by Greg Evans in news

At least that's what a group of researchers in Austria have discovered. A study conducted at Innsbruck University discovered that enjoying bitter flavours can be linked to a number of less than desirable traits.

These include sadism, narcissism, psychoticism and Machiavellianism.

The study, which assessed 953 people, asked individuals to rank a variety of different types of food and drink on a six-point scale. Food featured in the study had bitter, sour, salty and sweet tastes.

Scotch may be an acquired taste, but you gotta be nutz, or have dead taste buds, to become a gin hound.

Like all of those awful bitter IPAs that are so popular now, with each trying to outdo the other on bitterness.

When I was young I drank them because they glowed blue in the black lights of the clubs I frequented.

At least I hope it was the gin.

Dunno, they were crappy bars overseas.  I was in the military.

Apparently its the  tonic water and not the gin that causes it to glow.

You might need to find better quality gin. And it works even better when paired with a good dry vermouthsuch as Noilly Prat, stirred with ice, decanted into a martini glass, and served with a few tasty (not Spanish pimento) olives.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

I do enjoy an occasional Boodles Gin Toonie.

I drank Scotch in college because I learned my bottles tended to leak less in a shared college apartment.

I smoked "More" cigarettes for a similar reason.

I wore lace panties. For no particular reason.  Didn't help.  All my Frat Bro's used them.

Used them for what (he says while teeing the ball and handing @Wingnut a 2-Wood)?

Scotch may be an acquired taste, but you gotta be nutz, or have dead taste buds, to become a gin hound.

You obviously are not familiar with the delightful variety of craft gins now available in England.  For instance Brockman's, which brings out the elderflower flavor when paired with eldeflower tonic, or Sir Robin of Locksley, which has delightful overtones of grapefruit (much welcomed by those of us who loved grapefruit before we got put on statins).
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

Like all of those awful bitter IPAs that are so popular now, with each trying to outdo the other on bitterness.

Yeah, back in the 1990's what were called IPAs were good, now... I guess there must be a lot of psychopaths among the millennial hipsters (or the fad is a form of masochistic machismo -- no one really likes them, they just pretend to like the most bitter one as a proof of manhood).
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
