Eruptions in Hawaii are of a shield type volcano. These have low viscosity bassaltic lava, from a mafic magma source, and generally lack the volatiles (especialy steam) we see in the more explosive eruptions we find associated with trenches and plate subduction. While known for the fire fountains, the Hawaiian volcanoes are not known for the sort of explosive eruptions we see on the Pacific Margins and in the Mediterranean.
In the absence of such explosive activity, or the displacement of a LOT of material (which doesn't happen often with shield type volcanoes), it is highly unlikely that the Hawaiian eruptions will generate significant Tsunami events, unlike those trench-associated volcanoes in the Western Pacific, where major earthquake activity and fault block displacement may accompany the eruption, or caldera collapse and ensuing steam explosion may be a wave generator. Hawaii's biggest Tsunami threat is incoming waves from elsewhere.
So, aside from point source sulfur and some ash, the direct effects of lava and ejecta (lava 'bombs'--magma which is sprayed out liquid and solidifies in mid air), the Hawaiian volcanoes are mostly a threat to the residents there and no one else, unless there is some massive climate event associated with it. That hotspot activity is likely not the result of any human activity, just part of the natural order of things
