CNN Poll: Dems lead by 18 points on generic 2018 ballot

Democrats are leading by 18 points on a generic 2018 midterm ballot, according to new survey data from CNN.

According to the poll, 56 percent of respondents said they are most likely to vote Democrat in the midterm elections, and just 38 percent said they were likely to vote Republican.

This is a sharp increase in Democratic support from the 2014 elections – when the same question was asked in November 2013, 47 percent said they’d vote Democrat, and 49 percent said Republican.

Too bad they don't vote on a "generic Congressional ballot." They vote by district. Are they pleased with their incumbent, and is the opponent any more desirable?

The mechanics still favors the Republicans, at least in the Senate and I probably read that here, 8 Senate Republican seats will be up for election and so many Democrat seats.  I think the Rs will do fine. Keeping all or most of the Senate.

All we've heard for a year is how terrible Pres. Trump is and that the sky is falling. I think the Rats have talked themselves into a corner with the impeachment talk. As we get closer to the 2018 elections I can't imagine that most voters will want to see a crisis especially if the economy is booming. What I do think will hurt the Pubs is what we saw in Alabama. The Rat didn't win because of a huge Rat turnout. He won because a huge number of Pubs didn't bother to vote.

It is the Pub establishment being at war with a large part of the base that will hurt the Pubs, not the Rats.

Tax reform was a good first step after blowing the Obamacare repeal. Lets see what happens with Obamacare in 2018 as well as immigration.

It is NORMAL for the opposition party to gain seats in the off years.

Districts have become increasingly safe, favoring incumbents.

An awful lot can happen in a year.

With 3 quarters in a row of positive GDP growth and this - (heavy sigh of relief) - bold and long overdue reduction in the Consumption (Corp Income) Tax, a whole Year can, and I believe Will, bring jobs back to America.

Kind'a hard to convince a person whose been out of work for 5 years that the fact they now Have a job is Trump's 'Fault'.

Amen!  A CNN poll and Trump hasn't even finished his first year...and they're already making projections? Sorry, but anymore when I think of CNN I think of Blitzer having a holy cow when he realized that Trump was winning the election...absolutely priceless.

The #1 question every Republican running next year has to ask their opponent is "What has your Party actually accomplished since Our President was elected?"

Democrats can't answer it because all they've done since DJT was inaugurated is parade around with torches and pitchforks screaming "Get Trump! Get Him! If you don't, . . . AHHHH, . . . We're All Going To Die!"
