About one-third would vote for Trump in 2020: Poll
by Caitlin Yilek | Dec 20, 2017, 8:17 AM

Roughly one-third of Americans say they would definitely or probably vote for President Trump if he runs for re-election in 2020, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Wednesday.

Eighteen percent of people surveyed said they would “definitely” support Trump if he runs in 2020. Another 18 percent said they would “probably” vote for him, while 38 percent said they would vote for someone other than Trump.

Among Republicans, Trump’s support was higher. Eighty-three percent of people surveyed said they’d definitely or probably vote for Trump. But 73 percent of Democrats said they planned on voting against Trump.

The survey of 900 adults was conducted Dec. 13-15. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.

Must be a slow news day. Everyone knows that Trump's base is a third of the voters. I suppose the other 15% Trump will need in 2020 will come from independents turning up their nose at the Democrats' nominee.
