Never, never, never base an album on current events. It doesn't age well. Jimmy Buffett has to change many of his lyrics because young people don't know what he is talking about when he mentions Coneheads.
Jackson Browne did an anti-Bush album and it didn't age well at all. Just horrible.
Eminem made his fortune on bashing Police and society in general. Also, apparently he likes to beat up, rape, and kill women, according to his lyrics. That's where his money is.
Why he decided to go hard 100% political is a real mystery. It might make him feel good, by getting his hate or whatever off his chest, but it is not going to make money. It is a waste of time and money, not to mention the goodwill of his brand. If he wants to be a 'political activist', he needs to do that on his own time. Nobody else cares, especially in the Black community, who are in general not politically active people. Nobody can figure out what he thought he was doing with this?
He needs to get back to gangbanging, and slapin' and killin' hoes. That's how he got rich, and that is where his base is.
