NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell signed a contract extension with the NFL, according to a press release, that news reports say could be worth as much as $200 million.
The NFL announced Wednesday that Goodell had signed the contract extension along with Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, who signed on behalf of the league.
The New York Times and ESPN both reported that the deal reached with Goodell, who has been commissioner since 2006, was worth roughly $200 million over five years. The new deal has a caveat, however: Goodell's salary will only be paid in full if the NFL reaches certain financial targets.
