If I were a criminal profiler, I would say this cat is escalating in his fantasies, and may ultimately act on them.

But for now he's just a cute cat who wants to touch a bird.

I'll bet this worthless cat is owned by a Millennial. Back in my day our cats ate smaller animals. Birds, rodents, squirrels. They climbed trees to kill things. Now they are all pussiified.

My cats have never been outside and never seen a bird except thru the window.  I don't know what they would do if there was in real bird within reach.

I do know they react to the occasional mouse that way.  Pat, tap, pat, tap, tap.  The dog always ends up handling the kill.
