Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., on Wednesday split from fellow Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, by saying he doesn't believe the threshold has been met for appointing a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and the FBI's handling of its investigation into her use of a private email server.

“I don’t think the threshold has been met for the appointment of special counsel," Gowdy told Fox News on Wednesday. "I think this is a really important point. You can investigate something without special counsel."

"In fact, 99.9 percent of all investigations in this country are done by the women and men at the Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Offices, and none of them is called special counsel,” Gowdy said. “So there is a threshold that has to be met, and I don’t think it has been met. To say we’re not going to appoint special counsel is not to say we’re not going to look into something.”

I think the failure of Pres. Trump to appoint strong conservatives at all levels of the executive is coming back to haunt him. AG Sessions has to be the biggest disappointment so far.

It sure looks bad right now, but don't count Pres. Trump out. One thing for sure is he doesn't quit. Our problem is the legislative branch. If they can pass tax reform and eliminate the individual mandate before they lose the majority it would at least be something of value that they did.

I always thought Sessions was an attempt at appeasement of the GOP.  Sessions is and always has been a party hack afterall.

Trump is a fair man. And he wanted to give everyone a fair chance, and the benefit of doubt.


OK Trump. You did that. And it has failed miserably. There is no more fair chance, or benefit of the doubt, or trying to work with these people. Either you go in like Paul Bunyan and start clearing the forest of all the dead trees, or you fail.


Just like Obama fired all Bush appointees when he took office, it is time for you to stop pussyfooting around and get rid of the Obama A-holes who are sabotaging everything you try to do.
