In 2014, Serbia tightened the punishment for people taking part in military conflicts abroad

Since 2014, Serbian law enforcement officers have opened 45 criminal cases against mercenaries taking part in hostilities abroad, including in Donbas. This was reported by the representative of the prosecutor's office of Belgrade, Tatiana Sekulich, informs Politika.

According to her, proceeding was opened against persons under the Art. 386a of the Criminal Code of Serbia. In 2016 law enforcement officers brought charges to 24 persons.
