Fervent Trump-trashing Senator Bob Corker blasted the people of Alabama on Saturday for voting to make Judge Roy Moore the Republican nominee for Senate, calling their decision “a bridge too far.”

Retiring Sen. Corker broadcast his jab to Twitter, “Look, I’m sorry, but even before these reports surfaced, Roy Moore’s nomination was a bridge too far.”

Senator Corker was correct when he said, "I'm sorry."  He should have stopped there.  He is an extremely sorry person.

Roy Moore is on the far side of right on a lot of issues, but he is far from being alone in those views.

Tell, me, oh righteous Republicans, why is is okay to have people with extreme left-wing views in the Senate, but an awful horror to have a person with strong right wing views?

That was made self-evident to us during Obama's tenure.  The Republican Party is just another arm of the Statist Oligarchy.  A party that believes that they can manage Big Socialist Statist Government more efficiently than Democrats can.

It is why the GOP must go the way of the Whigs or be folded into the Democrat Party where it truly belongs.

At the moment, I'm just glad the good people of AL are not persuaded.  It's hard to convince all those couples where the man was 30 and married a 17-year-old there's something wrong with that.  Especially the ones who have been married for 50+ years.

I don't like this candidate ... he seems to represent the authoritarian wing, and he may well be a child molester.  But the people of Alabama chose him over Strange.  The national GOP is dooming itself by tanking his candidacy, before he has a chance to defend himself against the allegations!  They are delivering a blue wave in 2018 ... and honestly, I give less of a shit every day.

   Incidentally and somewhat relevant Sam Houston married Eliza Allen (2nd wife) on 22 January 1829. Houston was 35 and Eliza was 19.
