Mounting GOP retirements threaten House majority
By Jonathan Easley and Scott Wong - 11/10/17 06:04 AM EST

A retirement wave has hit House Republicans, emboldening Democrats who have become increasingly bullish about their prospects of winning back a majority in 2018.

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) on Thursday became the latest Republican to announce he would not seek another term.

The 13-term Virginian followed Reps. Ted Poe (R-Texas) and Frank LoBiondo (R-N.J.), both of who announced Tuesday — hours before Republicans suffered sweeping losses at the polls — that they’d retire from Congress.

They're retiring because their terms as committee chairmen are ending, nothing more. They can't stand the thought of being a member of the rank and file in Congress.

Ergo, it's not about the country, or spending more time with their families, it's about losing power in DC.

Wish the Senate had the same rules.

What threatens the GOP House majority is a do nothing Congress ... and I think we can include the Senate and even more so.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let them retire.
Probably time for new blood, anyway.

Just be sure that we get good candidates to run as their replacements.
