Rand Paul tweets update: Six broken ribs and buildup of fluid around lungs

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) released an update on his medical condition Wednesday via his Twitter account, writing that a new x-ray found six broken ribs and a buildup of fluid around his lungs.

Paul has been in the hospital since Saturday when he was assaulted by a neighbor. The suspect, 59-year-old Rene Boucher of Bowling Green, was arrested after he allegedly attacked the Kentucky senator while Paul was mowing his lawn.

"I appreciate all of the support from everyone. A medical update: final report indicates six broken ribs & new X-ray shows a pleural effusion," Paul tweeted Wednesday.

I sure hope they throw the book at Mr Rene.

These are life-threatening injuries to a sitting US Senator, and he needs to go to jail.

That's what I thought too.  I wondered whether McConnell got that timetable from Rand Paul or his doctors, or whether Mc Connell was ordering Rand Paul to be back next week.  If it's the latter, Rand should tell McConnell to shove it.

The felony charge should result in a loss of license.

Mitch should just decree that, given the events of the last few months. The Senate extends to any E.R., I.C.U. or any place a sitting Republican Senator is currently convalescing from a democrat attack.
