Feelbad story of the day: Victims of Vegas massacre being harassed, threatened by conspiracy theorists - Hot Air

I have no deep thoughts or hot takes for you about this. I just wanted to call it to your attention as a reminder that you should be rooting for a nuclear war that eradicates us as a species, the sooner the better.

Maybe the mutant giraffes that eventually evolve higher consciousness and inherit the planet will do better. At least for a few million years, until they produce a giraffe strain of conspiracy theorists who run around tormenting wounded giraffes.

By Jessica Kwong On 10/26/17 at 10:03 AM

Las Vegas shooting victims recovering from the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history earlier this month now face death threats from conspiracy theorists convinced that the massacre was a hoax, and that wounded individuals were crisis actors.

Sandy Hook parents were targeted too -- ignorant morons  demanding to know where the children were. The theory was that their dead kids were still alive and being held in FEMA camps.  Or something.

This is why I cringe when I see a post anywhere online from Infowars or any of the other kook sites.  Spreading around and speculating about conspiracy theories may seem harmless, but you never know what lunatic will actually take this nonsense seriously and decide to do something about it -- something that may involve violence or the threat of violence.

We can't stop these conspiracy loons from publishing their nonsense --freedom of speech and press --but we can refrain from doing anything to spread these stories around and to give them credence.

The problem with social media is that it gives a platform to everyone, and the wack-a-doodles will take any crazy notion and just run with it. Then add to the mix the aggrieved minority da Jour hoaxing about imagined slights and this gets the media in a feeding frenzy.
In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.-Woody Allen
If God invented marathons to keep people from doing anything more stupid, the triathlon must have taken him completely by surprise.
